Community Comeback: Visa Street Soccer USA Park Opens in San Francisco.
Located in San Francisco’s East Cut Crossing—just across from AT&T Park—stands the inaugural Visa Street Soccer USA Park, a vibrant new community hub featuring two full SoccerGround Advanced mini‑pitches (each roughly 76 × 52 ft), complete with 12 × 4 ft regulation goals and full perimeter netting.
This park is the first in a national network spearheaded by Visa, Street Soccer USA (SSUSA), and Bank of America, launched as part of a broader initiative to bring accessible soccer infrastructure to underserved communities across the U.S.
More Than a Field: A Platform for Purpose
Street Soccer USA is more than a nonprofit—it’s a movement committed to empowering communities through sport. Research shows that participation in SSUSA programming often leads to improvements in self-regulation, self-confidence, and overall life outcomes, including employment and education access in marginalized communities.
With Visa and Bank of America as key partners, these parks scale their reach—serving tens of thousands annually across 16 cities, with plans to open more locations in Denver, Kansas City, New York, Nashville, and Atlanta by 2026.
Each venue is equipped with LED lighting, digital scoreboards, seating for spectators, and even learning modules to support after-school academic sessions and job-readiness training, all integrated into the park design.
Design by SoccerGround: Function Meets Flexibility
The mini‑pitches represent SoccerGround’s Advanced system: modular, semi-portable courts with rebound boards and netting designed for active, continuous play. These both encourage fast, inclusive play formats and make the fields safe for high-traffic usage.
With two adjacent pitches, the park supports simultaneous games, tournaments, events, and even broader activations, ideal for league matches or group engagement sessions.
